McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act

Our school is committed to supporting all students, including those experiencing homelessness. Under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, children and youth who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence — including those living in shelters, motels, cars, campgrounds, or temporarily doubled up with relatives or friends due to loss of housing — have the right to enroll in school immediately, even without records typically required for enrollment (such as proof of residency, birth certificates, or immunization records). These students are also entitled to remain at their school of origin if that is in their best interest, receive transportation support, and access the same programs and services offered to all other students, free of charge.
